Located in the sought-after village of Chantry, this detached, stone-built barn offers a wealth of character and charm and is a wonderful crossover of new and old, having been very recently converted by the current owner. This is a wonderful, quirky conversion, presented to a very high standard.
On entering through the front door, you can immediately feel the rustic charm, the Entrance Hall has stone floors, and has oak doors opening to the Kitchen and to the Sitting Room, also with a door opening to a Shower Room, with period style fittings. A cast iron staircase rises from here to the first floor.
The Sitting Room is a light and bright space, a double aspect room with exposed stonework and ceiling timbers. Double doors open to the gardens and there is a flu installed for a wood burning stove. From here, you can walk through to the Dining Room, which again has doors to the gardens and at one end of the room, a stunning floor to ceiling window that allows you to take in the view of the adjoining countryside.
The Kitchen / Breakfast room is well fitted and features a range of quality fitted units with Belfast sink, solid wood worktops and an island with breakfast bar. The kitchen also has space and plumbing for washing machine and dishwasher, space for a large fridge/freezer and also features a Rangemaster duel fuel range cooker with double oven and gas hob.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, all having fabulous pine “cheeseboard” floor boards, imported from Holland. The main bedroom is a glorious room, with stunning ceiling timbers and in one corner a clawfoot bath. This room features full en-suite facilities, in addition to the shower room on the ground floor. The second bedroom is triple aspect, very light, also having exposed floors and ceiling timbers. In all, there are three double bedrooms on the first floor.
Mainly laid to lawn, with extensive driveway parking and garaging for three cars. A wonderful cobblestone path leads from the drive, through the garden, to the front door. To one side, there are lovely views over an adjoining field and in one corner of the garden is a decked seating area, with pergola over and double doors opening from the Kitchen / Breakfast Room. On a sunny day, it really is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the peace and seclusion that this home has to offer.
