This Detached family home is well positioned offering access into the village of Wedmore, yet also benefits from a countryside setting, with fabulous views and over an acre of private grounds. Within the grounds, there are a number of outbuildings presenting opportunities for those who require storage or space for keeping animals and of course there is the potential for conversion, subject to planning permission being granted.
Believed to have been built in the 1920s, the property has been extended over the years and now offers over 2200 square feet of accommodation, boasting four reception rooms, in addition to a large conservatory with underfloor heating and a 16ft x 11ft Entrance Hall. The ground floor also benefits from a Laundry Room and Cloakroom as well as a Kitchen / Breakfast Room with a range of fitted units, large larder cupboards and a breakfast bar. There is also an Integrated fridge, space and plumbing for a dishwasher, an integrated electric oven, a gas hob and an oil-fired Aga. A door opens internally from the Kitchen to the Double Garage.
On the first floor, there is a large landing area, with doors opening to all four bedrooms. The Master Bedroom is impressive, measuring 17ft long with an en-suite bathroom having both shower cubicle and a roll top bath. From here there are two windows with fabulous views over surrounding countryside.
The property has Solar tubes, providing hot water from March to October. There is an integral vacuum system and the house has oil fired central heating, with gas bottles used to supply the gas hob in the kitchen.
Set in just over an acre of grounds with the main area of garden to the rear of the house. The gardens are well maintained, mainly laid to lawn, with a variety of mature trees, shrubs and plants and offer a wonderful feeling of space, privacy and seclusion. There are a number of outbuildings with lots of potential, possibly even for conversion, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consent. These include a fabulous timber barn; fully refurbished in 2019 and now benefitting from a concrete floor, suitable for the storage of garden vehicles and there is an adjoining potting shed. The other outbuildings were built in the 1970s to house livestock and are currently used for storage but could also provide a variety of other options.
There are excellent state and independent schools locally including Wedmore First School Academy, Hugh Sexeys Middle School and the high performing Kings of Wessex Upper School Academy. Local Independent schools include Wells Cathedral School, Sidcot, Millfield and the Taunton Schools.
The property also offers access to the M5 and Highbridge & Burnham railway station with regular trains to Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. Bristol international airport is approximately 15 miles North.
