Pilton village has a strong friendly community that hosts several annual events and has a good selection of societies and clubs.
Bruton is just 10 miles away which has a range of local shops, smart restaurants and ‘Hauser and Wirth’; a world renowned art gallery including exhibitions, a beautiful garden designed by Piet Oudolf and a fantastic restaurant. The Georgian city of Bath is just over 20 miles away and the regional centre of Bristol is approximately 27 miles away. Nearby is Castle Cary train station with direct links to London Paddington
There is a wide range of good educational establishments at all levels in the local area from the state and independent sectors. All Hallows, Downside, Millfield, Kings and Sexeys in Bruton and Wells Cathedral School.
Take the A361 towards Pilton. One in Pilton, take the road between the Crown Pub and the old village stores into Totterdown Lane. Follow the lane to the crossroads at the top, go straight across and then down the other side passing Burcott Manor on your left. Continue into West Compton and follow to the sharp right bend and there, turn left. 2 Rose Cottages can be found a short way along on the left.
