The Cathedral City of Wells offers further amenities including twice weekly markets held in the square, and is within a short driving distance. Mainline rail services to London Paddington are available from Bath, Bristol and Castle Cary. Bristol Airport is 14 miles away.
There is a wide range of good schools nearby in both the public and private sectors. Good state primary schools include Priddy primary school and those at Wells. State secondary schools include The Blue School in Wells, Kings of Wessex in Cheddar. Private schools locally include Sidcot, Wells Cathedral School and Millfield. The area is also well known for its variety of sporting and leisure facilities including walking, cycling, caving and horse riding.
