The Government announced an expected extension to the stamp duty holiday alongside a government-backed mortgage guarantee scheme in the Budget on Wednesday with the measures aimed at helping home buyers and sellers.

We are continuing to see an active housing market as buyers rush to find homes in rural areas with gardens and workspace and sellers hurry to list their properties in order to take advantage of the stamp duty holiday.

We have been really busy in selling and letting properties over the past month.

Tom Killen takes a look at the housing market since the formal opening of estate agency offices.

Guidance for Clients in selling and buying homes

With the housing market reopening for business, the Government have issued clear advice on the house moving process and we summarise these, and their implications for you, below.

If you would like to read the guidelines for yourself, please find them here:

In short, people are free to sell, buy or let a property and to move home but there are strict safety recommendations in place to protect all parties at every step of the process. Your house can be marketed and you can start to look for a new property to move into, but there are rules around keeping as much of the process virtual as possible and sticking very carefully to social distancing and hygiene advice. Here, we summarise the guidance and are procedures.

Killens are obviously concerned about the current health crisis concerning the Coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak. We are taking measures to ensure we keep our staff and clients as safe as possible from Coronavirus (COVID 19).
