Based at the Mendip Auction Rooms, our professional services team deliver a wide range of services including commercial and rural property sales and lettings, valuations and advice on tenancies, compulsory purchase and rural business.

The team is headed by Tom Killen, who is a Chartered Surveyor and Agricultural Valuer, established Killens and has worked across the West Country for over 30 years.

Our Team

The Professional Services team are dedicated to providing the best advice to clients and are experienced in delivering advice on a wide range of matters and have excellent local knowledge.

Tom Killen, Partner/RICS Registered Valuer

Tom Killen

Partner/RICS Registered Valuer

Tom established Killens in 2008 and was born and bred in Somerset. He has almost 30 years’ experience in providing property advice throughout the West Country. He attended Wells Cathedral School and is a graduate of Reading University and the Royal Agricultural College. He specialises in the delivery of professional services as a land agent. He is also an auctioneer selling at the Killens Auction Rooms. In addition to having a growing family, Tom is involved in the local community supporting various charities.

Gemma Bluck, Surveyor

Gemma Bluck


Gemma joined Killens in August 2022 and is currently undergoing a Degree Apprenticeship in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University, to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor. Whilst working alongside Tom Killen in the Professional Services department, Gemma can also be found occasionally in the Somerton office assisting with residential sales and lettings. Gemma has grown up in South Somerset and has spent a lot of her time working on local farms. Outside of work, she enjoys being outside, walking the dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Jack Piercy, Surveyor

Jack Piercy


Jack spent his childhood in rural Northamptonshire, where he completed A Levels in English Literature and Language, History and Economics. He joined Killens in August 2022 with the aspiration of qualifying as a rural chartered surveyor. He is involved in our professional services and land agency team, gaining valuable first-hand experience through a wide range of rural activities, whilst studying towards a degree in Real Estate and Land Management at Harper Adams University. Jack enjoys snowboarding, skiing, rugby, camping and walking his dog, Stanley.
